Electro Automation provides licence plate recognition (LPR) or automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) systems and solutions to civilian and police users. We represent the combined talents of Talon ANPR and Genesis Policing products in Ireland.
Our products assist local authorities and commercial organisations in all aspects of security, surveillance, access control and traffic management. We can also provide the protection petrol forecourts need against non paying drive-offs.
Various policing and enforcement products from Talon and Genesis are also supplied and supported by Electro Automation.
These world leading solutions come complete with powerful 'bolt-on' applications for a wide variety of tasks including access control, surveillance, car park management, forecourt drive-off prevention and car park usage monitoring. They also serve local authority requirements for traffic surveys and Journey Time Analysis.

Overview
Our intelligent transport products are high performance, high accuracy Automatic Number/License Plate Recognition (ANPR/ALPR) systems. The Talon ANPR products are based on a proprietary neural network recognition engine. Neural network technology is superior to any template based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) ANPR system, offering significantly higher performance and accuracy, typically better than 97%.
 
Genesis products are used in security, surveillance and enforcement applications worldwide and are favoured by many police forces.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition Image Capture systems are designed to read vehicle licence plates day and night, in the most demanding conditions. We provide image capture systems which can be supplied with a range of different internal camera and IR illumination options offering unmatched flexibility - suitable for any ANPR/ALPR application including mobile, fixed and long range ANPR.

The Challenge
Number plates have widely differing characteristics and contrasts. Image Capture Systems overcome these problems by having a choice of IR wavelengths available.

Obtaining high confidence recognition results in bright sunlight, when licence plate characters are partly shaded is a significant challenge. At night time the effect of bright headlights are suppressed to improve the accuracy of recognition.
